Wonderfully Made and Completely Loved
There are some truths we need to hear throughout our lives:
God made you.God knows you.God loves you completely.
This week, our Year 1 students help us rediscover these wonderful promises. Through the story of creation, Psalm 139 and Jesus welcoming the children, we are reminded that every person is precious to God. Our world often measures people by appearance, achievements, strength, independence or usefulness. God sees us differently. God looks at what he has made and says, “It is very good.” He knows every part of our story and calls each of us by name.
In our Gospel reading, people bring children to Jesus. When the disciples try to turn them away, Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me.” Jesus takes the children into his arms and blesses them. His welcome is also for you. You are never too young or old, too weak, too imperfect or too unimportant to receive his love.
When your strength feels small or your faith feels uncertain, remember: your salvation does not depend on how tightly you hold onto Jesus. It rests upon how firmly Jesus holds you.
You are wonderfully made, completely loved and forever safe in his hands.
