- The Reward of Faithfulness
- What reward do you expect for following Jesus?
- Many people assume that faith should make life easier—that following Christ will bring comfort, success, or freedom from hardship. Yet Jesus offers a very different promise. He tells His disciples that following Him may involve carrying a cross, facing rejection, and serving faithfully in a world that does not always welcome the Gospel. And yet, He also promises that none of it is wasted.
- This week we explore Jesus' remarkable words in Matthew 10:40–42, where He speaks of welcoming His disciples, offering even a cup of cold water to someone in His name, and receiving a reward that can never be taken away.
- Together we will discover that the reward of faithfulness is not earthly success or an easy life. Rather, it is Christ Himself—His forgiveness, His presence, His peace, and His promise never to leave us. From that gift flows a life of humble service, where even the smallest acts of kindness become opportunities for God's grace to touch another person's life.
- "Whoever welcomes you welcomes Me, and whoever welcomes Me welcomes the One who sent Me." — Matthew 10:40
